Most of the world starts to wind things down about lunchtime on Friday. Thinking about weekend plans, or talking to co-workers about the upcoming Super Bowl….. that’s typically the only real work getting done. But, for the critical-facility world, many times this is when the real action starts. Being that critical systems support the most crucial aspects of one’s true business function, “Normal business hours” means the time to do bill-paying work by using those systems. However, for the hard working crews that support these facilities, their “normal hours” are often times really “off hours”. In the critical world we call this “7×24”.
From scheduled maintenance to equipment installation and commisioning it’s very common for game-time to begin when everyone else is going home.
Here’s a big thank you to all the teams that support us in doing the hard work, when no one else is. Make no mistake, it’s tough on everyone (including families) but it’s what has to be done in order to get the job done.
Thank you to everyone out there working nights and weekends so the rest of the world can work 5×8, M-F!!!!
If you have an off-hour project that needs to get done right, and before your business opens back up Monday morning, please contact me and I’d be happy to figure out a way to help.
